Meet our staff

Sandy Connors

Sandy is a safeguarding specialist with more than 30 years experience across the education, health and community sectors. For the last decade, Sandy has worked with boarding schools, colleges and universities to embed safeguarding compliance into the organisational functions of educational establishments across the UK, Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand. 


An expert in the safeguarding and welfare requirements for international students, Sandy has successfully designed, written and implemented policies, procedures and welfare methodologies that have enhance the student experience. With a background as a senior leader in education, and a Master degree in Leadership from Anglia Ruskin University, Sandy's expertise in compliance through audits and investigations has ensured both student wellbeing and business assurances at a global, multinational level.


Sandy started her career as a nurse and is proud of her the 17 years she spent working for the NHS as an A&E specialist. In her spare time, Sandy is the Safeguarding Governor for a local primary school.

Anila Arshad-Mehmood

Anila (She/Her) has experience with children and young people from nurseries to adult education, including Further and Higher Education as Professional Services lead, Senior Leader for Welfare, Safeguarding and Personal Development. Anila specialisms are people wellbeing and development leading training on: anti-racism and Equality Diversity and Equity Inclusion, mental health, wellbeing and safeguarding.


Anila remains committed to continuing personal development and has recently completed an MBA. Anila is a registered Mental Health First Aid and ASIST trainer.  Anila has a strong belief in the role of people development as a gateway to self-reflection and ongoing development and is a Trustee at EveryTurn Mental Health Charity.  Anila is also dedicated to developing independent, resilient young people and supports Court Moor School as a Governor. Anila is a mentor at University of Brighton which mirrors her person-centred values.  


In 2022, Anila was recognised as an emerging Leader on the InsideOut Leaderboard for her work in the field of mental health and wellbeing, and her ongoing drive to creating a ripple effect for senior leaders who are willing to speak out about their experiences to become role models.
